How do I post an item?
  1. At the top of the page select “Post an Item”.
  2. Note: you must create an account to post an item, see “How to Create an Account.”
  3. On the next screen, after you have created or logged in, select “Post an Item.”
  4. Select the appropriate category for your listing. This field is required.
  5. Select the length of time you would like your item to appear on RenoXchng and select “Continue” at the bottom of the page.
  6. Confirm your chosen category and days listed.
  7. Complete the form. Note the asterisk (*) denoted required fields. The system will populate your name and contact email, but you can edit these fields.
    1. When selecting the State and City, you can begin typing to quickly see the options.

  9. Select Preview Listing and/or Complete Listing
How do I set up an account?
  1. Select “Post an Item” or “Log In” at top of page.
  2. Select “Don’t have account? Signup Here” under LOGIN.
  3. Complete the “Please Signup” form.
  4. Select “Submit”
What does “Upgrade” mean?

When you select to Upgrade an item, your listing is moved to the top of the category page. If there are more than one upgraded listings in that category, the order is determined by the order the upgrades are received.

How do I Upgrade an item?
  1. On the “Post an Item” page select the radio button corresponding to the length of time you wish your listing to be upgraded.
  2. Follow the payment process.
  3. Upgraded listings are identified at the bottom of the item’s view.
  4. When you select to Upgrade an item, your listings is moved to the top of the category page. If there are more than one upgraded listing in that category, the order is determined by the order the upgrades are received.
How do I pay for an upgraded or extended time listing?
  1. After you selected a paid listing option in “Post an Item”, click continue. You will be directed to a “Complete Payment” page.
  2. Confirm your selection and select “Continue”.
  3. Currently “Check out with PayPal” is the only option. You will be taken to the PayPal payment site.
  4. Log in if you have a PayPal account. This is not required to make your payment.

  5. Complete the payment form.
  6. You are redirected to complete your posting at RenoXchng.
Can I cancel an upgrade?
  • Unfortunately, an upgrade cannot be canceled.
How can I change a paid upgrade or posting extension?
  • The only way to change a posting’s paid option is you must delete your posting and create a new one.
Can I get a refund for a paid upgrade or posting extension, if I delete a posting or it’s sold before the time expires?
  • Sorry, no refunds are available.
Can I post an item for free?
Yes! Select the 7 Day option in “Post an Item”.
What is the cost to post an item?
On the “Post an Item” page you have several options to extend or upgrade your listing. Each option has the corresponding cost showing.
How many items can I post?
There is no limit to the number of postings per user.
When do postings expire?
Listings expire based on the time selected in “Post an Item”.
What are the photo requirements?
  • For best results photos must be a minimum width of 640 pixels.
  • 72 dpi or more.
  • Acceptable formats: jpg, jpeg, pjpeg, png, gif
  • Maximum size – 2 MB
How can I delete or disable a photo in a posting?
  • Follow the “How do I edit a posting”
    • Scroll down to the Images
  • You can select the Primary image by selecting the “Star” under the image thumbnail.
  • You disable a photo, without deleting it by selecting the “X” under the image thumbnail.
  • You delete a photo it by selecting the Trash Can icon under the image thumbnail.
What items can I list?

RenoXchng only allow items related to home construction and renovations. Each category helps define what can be listed. See also “What cannot be listed

How do I edit a posting?
  • You received a link in your confirmation email to edit your posting
    • Or use the steps below
      1. Select “Account” in the top menu bar
      2. Select “View Your Listings”
      3. Select the listing you want to edit
      4. Select “Edit Ad” above the item Title
      5. Make your edits
      6. Select “Save Ad”
    How do I delete a posting?

        3. Select the listing you want to delete

          2. Select “View Your Listings”
          3. Select the listing you want to mark as sold
          4. Select “Edit Ad” above the item Title
          5. Select “Mark as Sold” in the top section under “Action”
        How do I buy an item?
        1. Select the item you wish to purchase. This takes you to the item page.
        2. Select the “Contact <name>” link.
        3. Your account information is automatically filled. This information can be edited.
          1. Only your name is shown to the seller, not your email address. RenoXchng uses a “double blind email system” for users and posters to contact each other.  They do this through the Reply To Ad form, where the user submits the data they wish to send to the poster, and RenoXchng sends the email on behalf of the user to the poster.
        4. Complete your message to the seller, i.e. “is this still available?”
        5. Select continue.
          1. You will receive a confirmation
        6. Select “Return to item” or any other links in the header or footer.
        Will sellers see my email address?

        How do I report a seller?
        1. On the Contact Seller page, select “Report this listing:”, select the flag.
        2. A note will be sent to RenoXchng.
        How do I avoid being Scammed? - Buyer
        Although there is no way to completely prevent scams, there are several steps you can take to help make a transaction secure transaction and prevent scams:
        • Review the listing for any suspicious descriptions, e.g. the description and price match the item.
        • No photos are shown
        • The listing has typos or poor grammar
        • Avoid making any payment to someone you don’t know via applications, where the payment is not backed the financial institution.
        • Pay only after you have reviewed and secured the item.
          • Avoid any prepayment requests
        • Meet the seller in a public area, such as a shopping center parking lot, if possible.
        • Due to the nature of RenoXchng items, it may be necessary to meet at someone’s home.
          • Review the area of the home
          • Meet only outside
          • If possible, do not go alone
          • Advise a friend of your location
          • Keep you cell phone accessible
        • Review multiple safety sites online
        • Beware of any items involving shipping

        Although there is no way to completely prevent scams, there are several steps you can take to help make a transaction secure transaction and prevent scams:

        • Do not accept the following for payment:
          • Wired funds
          • Cashier Checks or Certified Checks
          • Money orders
          • Checks
          • Foreign Currencies
          • Cryptocurrency
        • If accepting any payment apps, such as Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, or Zelle, ensure the funds are in your account prior to releasing the items.
        • Do not provide your financial account information.
